I am fascinated by the small gestures of daily life, the little details of intimacy that define humanity, regardless of geography or culture.
In 2005 I travelled to Mozambique. I met Aziza Amade and took photographs at her house, a derelict building locally known as Clube Desportivo. I returned in 2006, 2008 and 2009. In 2010, I married Aziza's oldest daughter Atija. Together, we went back to London in 2011.

Later that year, our son Sander was born at Homerton Hospital. This is the story of our family.
