Born in 1983 and raised in Madagascar, I worked in France in the corporate world as an engineer before I moved to Senegal in West Africa in 2011 and embraced photography. I followed my husband who had relocated for professional purposes. The idea of the project originated after my arrival in Dakar, the capital city of Senegal.
I was confused because of the reality of my new environment. I was faced with alternative representations and found myself asking questions of all sorts, from existential ones, to human nature and behavior, and to where I belong.
Intended as visual poetry, my aim is to convey a form to my attempt to make sense of the inside and outside turmoil as different sets of reality collide in my mind.
