CHRISTIAN CAUJOLLE

PARIS / BOOK EDITING PHOTO WORKSHOP

24th to 28th OCTOBER // Deadline: 20th September

Atelier Smedsby photo workshop offers you the opportunity to work specifically on editorial style with Christian Caujolle, photographic book specialist (See his detailed biography in Contributors).

This workshop is for photographers with an advanced project, the completion of which would be a book or a catalogue, and photographers needing help with the final phase of their book project. You will work on several very important different points of the editorial process: Style, layout, technique, selecting images and their order.

All these important decisions will be made via a dialogue between you, the group, and Christian Caujolle.

You will be guided to make changes to your projects through exercises done during the workshop. These exercises will, if necessary, enable you to complete your projects with new photographs.

You can also discuss, ask any questions about how the publishing world works, benefitting from Christian Caujolle's professional experience.

You will understand the importance of the work done on pictures as part of sequences, how that determines a reading, the value of your choice of certain materials, and style. This workshop will teach you what really is the editorial process. You will be able to use this knowledge for future projects.
